Maybe I just have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ luck, but if the weapon is that inconsistent, it's not worth it. I remember, as an experiment, I quicksaved, and fired off three shots with a Beam Splitter on mine at a Settler down the road from the workbench at Sanctuary, and every single beam missed the guy. However, like I said, you have to actually hit people for that to matter. I've heard of a Mosin Nagant mod on nexus, along with a few WotNM having some as well, a Stetyr Scout and L96 for instance. A tad slow for a mid range rifle, but as a sniper it shouldn’t be too big an issue. Seconded, the Remington 700 is well done. Which is a much higher chance to cripple. Good general purpose bolt action rifle mod. Each blast contains a seperate kneecapper effect It spreads a lot, and it only splits it into five blasts. If your target isn't right in your face, most of the shots will miss. I was investigating a Beam Splitter on that very same weapon earlier, but I found that the whole laser shotgun thing pretty much negates any increase in effectiveness to the Kneecapper effect in most situations.
